Gymnasium
Whitehall
Established in 2024, Gymnasium Whitehall was created to provide a permanent studio and exhibition space for artist Ben Miller and to support sustained, studio-centered artistic practice.
Originally built in the 1930s to house a regulation-size basketball court, the building retains its original hardwood floor, court lines and expansive proportions. The wide berth of the court and high ceilings make the space uniquely suited to the physical scale and movement of Miller’s Fly-Cast Painting process.
Miller maintains a permanent studio setup at one end of the gymnasium, now visibly marked by layers of paint overspray accumulated through years of casting. The space functions not only as a site of production, but as a record of process.
